Therapeutic and Medical Massage
Living Well Therapeutic Massage offers a Licensed Massage Therapist, dedicated to helping you improve your health and achieve a functionally fit pain-free lifestyle. You will receive outstanding massages, flexible scheduling, and fantastic service in a rural setting. We will discuss which type of massage will be most beneficial for you based on the muscular issues you report. I combine different methods and pressures to work toward your desired results.
Types of Massage Offered:
SWEDISH MASSAGE-This type of massage is good for relaxation and stress relief. It is generally a full-body massage. Long, gentle stokes are applied to major muscle groups, gentle music is played, essential oils are diffused if you desire and warmed lotion is used for relaxation. It's like taking a vacation!
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE-For my clients experiencing muscle tightness, this type of massage might be a good solution. Gentle pressure is used at first to soften the major muscle groups; then a firmer pressure is applied to target the deeper muscles and tendons.
HOT STONE MASSAGE-A specialty massage using smooth, heated stones as an extension of my hands during the massage and also placing them at key points on the body to promote deeper muscle relaxation. The heat is both deeply relaxing and helps warm up the muscles so I can work more deeply. Hot stone massage therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism.
NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY-As a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner I am able to use this form of bodywork for my clients suffering from acute or chronic pain. Rather than trying to work the entire body, I will focus on the specific muscles at the source of the pain, as well as other muscles and fascia (tissues) which may be involved in the pain syndrome.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE-This form of massage works to release the superficial fascia covering all muscles, bones, organs, and veins. Restrictions in fascia of one part of the body can hinder movement in other areas of your body. Releasing this tissue helps restore movement and flexibility. I often use cupping to facilitate this release.
We will discuss your needs to appropriately individualize your session.
Your best therapy session generally includes a variety of the above modalities and pressures.
